- Detects alcohol in urine going back on average 80 hours.
- Lower 300ng/ml cutoff for more sensitive results
- Forensic Use Only
- 3mm wide strip
Our ETG urine alcohol tests are quick and reliable method to detect the presence of ETG in urine. Previously an ethyl glucuronide urine alcohol test was only offered by laboratories with a significantly higher cost and waiting period for results. We are pleased to be able to conveniently offer to you an instant ETG test kit that can be used in a professional setting or at home.
Sensitivity of the ETG Urine Alcohol Test
-The threshold for our ETG test kits is 300ng/ml which helps to “weed” out and incidental exposures to alcohol that could cause a false positive
Applications For the ETG Urine Alcohol Test
-All ETG test kits are for forensic usage only
-Perfect for Testing in a variety of situations including clinics such as rehabs, workplace testing, Pre-employment, School alcohol testing, Law enforcement, and personal at home alcohol testing
How Does an ETG Urine Alcohol Test Work?
The direct metabolite of ethanol alcohol is Ethyl Glucuronide (ETG) which can be used as a bio-marker for ethanol exposure. When alcohol is consumed our bodies metabolize it into ETG which can be detectable as soon as 2 hours and up to 80 hours after consumption. The likely hood of detecting a positive result does depend on certain biological factors relating to the person’s weight, metabolism, amount of other food eaten or water drank prior to drinking alcohol, amount of alcohol consumed, and length of time it occurred.
ETG Test Dip Procedure -collect a urine specimen from a donor in a collection cup -Read the temperature strip to ensure it is between the correct range -Remove the cap from the ETG test and submerge the absorbent strips in the urine -DO NOT pass the arrow on the strips when submerging the urine alcohol test card this can flood the test and invalidate it -After the line in the C (control) region appears you are able to read the T (test) area.
